Where Has The City Dweller Been?

Hey loves, it's been a little while since the last time I've posted, and it's not that I've forgotten about you or this blog, it's just that a great many things have happened in my life. The biggest one is that I am now debt-free! Cue the Happy Girl dance:

Securing financial independence has been a priority for me for quite some time, and last month I was able to put it into the "done" pile. Woot woot!

I worked very, very hard for it, all year. I reached a new level of focus and just finally got it done.

And it's kind of amazing to me that I got here while working for myself, rather than when I had a regular 9 to 5!

Me achieving this goal right around the winter holidays is perfect. During Thanksgiving, I was very thankful for it (as well as all the wonderful, amazing, sweeter-than-cherries blessings that are in my life).

And as far as Christmas goes, I don't think I've ever given myself a better Christmas present. ♥

So I've been feeling really good lately. My family is well, my boyfriend is wonderful, my business is thriving, and with my new financial freedom in tow, I am ready to truly start painting this town red.

Another significant change for me is that my contract ended with a client that I really liked but that required so much work and effort. Because they hired me for photography work about Atlanta, it fit in really well with what I was already doing for my blog, but it really took a lot out of me. I feel very fortunate to have had such a great client, but I am also very glad that I now have a new opportunity to reinvest in myself.

With power over both my time and my finances, a whole new Beth has emerged. And I've got a new chance to pour creativity, exploration, and joy into my blog the way I've always wanted to.

At its heart, this blog has always been about the things I enjoy and am curious about, a bit of an online diary so I can stay in touch with family and friends. Now I'm looking forward to giving it a much bigger role in my life.

In fact, I've been so AWOL that you guys didn't even see when I had long blond braids recently. I've changed my hairstyle again, so these pics that Paul Biagui took of me are the only remaining proof of my flaxen locks, lol:

Ooh, wait, just remembered this pic from when we went to that hot air balloon festival in Kennesaw:

Sorry I didn't have time to blog about that excursion. But it's nice to know that the future is looking as lofty as those balloons!

So what's on the horizon? I'm kicking off 2016 with a trip to Panama in a couple of weeks, and I'll bring you along for that. I've also got my eye on a new sewing machine, so I'm looking forward to getting craftier with fashion. I'll be showing you a more of my forays into the kitchen, and of course, I will always continue exploring this great city. xoxo always.
