My Birthday at STK Atlanta

Let's all raise our glasses to the gluttons (like me) who choose to casually celebrate their birthdays all week -- or all month, if we're being honest! Now, I don't take it so far as to make everything all about me (I certainly hope not, anyway), but rather I tend to try things that I haven't tried before and chalk it up to new birthday experiences. In so doing, I don't cram it all in to the actual birthday day (that's way too much pressure), but instead spread it out throughout the week or month.

Last year I did a biplane ride and a surprise ziplining excursion with my wonderful friends; this year I learned to juggle with my friend Brandon Ross and also took an aerial arts class, in which you hang from fabric suspended from the ceiling and do dance moves. I also made cinnabons from scratch using this sinful recipe, as well as attended several Living Walls events (I think we all know how much I love street art, LOL! I'll be making a post on Living Walls soon.)

Last night, my girls and I dolled ourselves up for a night of cocktails, nibbles, and good tunes at Stk Atlanta. We'd never been there before, and the Monday lineup, called Magnum Mondays, sounded like something we ought to check out.

Honestly, we were having too good a time for me to pay attention and do a proper review on the place, so stay tuned for a follow up visit, where I'll show more of the food, decor, and crowd. We barely remembered to grab these pics, so I gotta give a shout out to J for bringing the camera, otherwise there'd be no pics at all!

We were popping the summer colors like fireworks, and I love how beautiful my girls are.

My dress is from Sole Accessories and this mobile phone pic is the only full-length shot I got of it. (#Fail.) As a sidenote, I'm really proud of this dress because I personally installed the zipper. When I was trying it on in the store, the zipper completely fell apart -- to the point where the clerk had to come into the dressing room to wrestle me out of the thing. Despite the chaos, I decided to buy the dress anyway because the design was fab and the price would be deeply discounted. After I got it home, I just YouTubed how to attach a new zipper! It's random little story, and I know no one cares about the zipper but me, but it increases my love for this dress. And it fits like a glove!

I have no idea what I was making this silly face about, but I love that T is making a similar face in solidarity. #Sisterhood. Along those lines, did you know that people ask all the time if we're sisters? People even ask if we're twins. All the time. She is my roommate, so perhaps our facial features are merging... :)

Now this was a sweet touch. The chocolate words were as tasty as the ice cream cupcake.
