Impromptu BBQ

Just attended my first mini-cookout of the season! Yesssss! You know what this means? It means that warm weather and warm spirits are officially here. No matter that there's been rather chilly weather 'round Atlanta (for late-April); a cookout means that we're ready to whip out the marinades, the charcoal, the skewers, the buffets of meat and veggies and seafood... and slap it all on the barbie! All washed down with a cold beer. Hell yes.

Sooo glad my friend M invited me over for her get-together; got to pop in and chat it up with her and some new comrades.

Forget a ring; if you want to propose to a woman, give her these grilled corn on the cob. Effing amazeballs.

The corn came with its own bar of condiments. Each person slathered the whole ear of corn onto a brick of butter and then seasoned it to taste with salt, lemon pepper, red pepper flakes, or whatever else struck their fancy. Delish.

Three musketeers, digging in

I had to include this pic because my face is ridiculous; that first, juicy, smoking bite of corn burst in my mouth like flavor crystals. I was struck speechless and dumbfounded!

This pimento cheese spread was a knockout

Yeah, we dug right in. Spread on a cracker, that pimento cheese is definitely righteous

Can't remember what meat this is, but it had a spicy kick that kept me going back for more little slivers

Yes. YES. Grilled pineapple. I'm done. I have nothing more to say. HELL YES.
